What is KunzumLA?
KunzumLA (kunzumla.com) is an Indian adventure travel company — a platform where you can discover, plan and book curated mountain expeditions across the Indian Himalayas. We cover Spiti Valley, Lahaul, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and beyond.
Our name is inspired by Kunzum La — the legendary high-altitude pass at 4,551 m that connects Lahaul to Spiti. That pass represents exactly what we stand for: a threshold between the ordinary and the extraordinary. Every trip we operate is built around that spirit.
We are a registered Indian company, founded by people who spent years organising trips for friends before realising the gap in the market: no platform was doing adventure travel with the seriousness it deserved. So we built one.
Why Kunzum La?
The pass that inspired a company
Kunzum La sits at 4,551 metres in Himachal Pradesh — one of the highest motorable passes in the world, open only between June and October. The Kunzum Devi Temple at the summit has been a waypoint for travellers for centuries. Every motorcyclist, trekker and jeep expedition that crosses it circles the temple before moving on.
That ritual — pausing, acknowledging the mountain, then moving forward — is the attitude we bring to every trip we operate. The name is our north star, not our address.

Every route we list is one we have walked ourselves. No padded itineraries, no tourist-trap detours — just the raw, honest Himalaya.
Small groups, big experiences
We cap group sizes to keep the experience personal. Your guide knows your name before you reach base camp.
Safety is non-negotiable
Wilderness first-aid certified guides, acclimatisation protocols, and travel insurance on every booking — not as an upsell, as a standard.
Flexible by design
Life happens. Our cancellation and rescheduling policies are built around that reality, not against it.
Our guides
Every guide on KunzumLA is personally vetted — wilderness first-aid certified, fluent in the terrain they lead, and trained to read weather and altitude conditions. We do not list a guide we would not trust with our own family on the mountain.
